My Torah Helper ("the App") is owned and operated by My Torah Helper LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the App you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
1. Who may use the App
The App is built for families. An adult parent or guardian creates the account and sets it up for their own children's Torah practice at home. Children use it under that parent's supervision — a child does not create their own account.
You may use the App for your own family only. You may not resell access, share your account with other families, or use it to run a class, school, or program for other people's children without our written permission.
2. Ownership & what you may not do
Everything in the App is our property or used with permission. That includes the software and source code, the page designs and artwork, the mascots and logo, the coach's lines, and — importantly — the curated Torah content: the graded kriah word lists, the tefillos broken into lines, the mishnayos with their word-by-word teitch, the chumash text with translation, and the Tehillim selections. Assembling and grading that material took substantial work, and it is protected by copyright.
You may not copy, download, scrape, republish, redistribute, sell, or build another product from any part of the App — including its code and its content — and you may not reverse-engineer or decompile it. Automated collection of the App's content is prohibited. This applies whether or not the material carries a copyright notice.
What you may do: use the App normally with your family, and print your own child's progress reports and practice sheets for your own household use.
We reserve all rights not expressly granted here. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of anything to you.
3. Your account and family code
Your family code is what links your devices to your family's data. Please keep it to yourself — anyone who has it can see and change your family's practice data. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so choose a real password and don't share it.
Tell us promptly — through the feedback box in Parental Controls — if you think someone else has your code or password.
4. Your recordings
When you record the practice words, the Rashi letters, or the coach's lines in your own voice, those recordings stay yours. We don't sell them, share them with other families, or use them to train anything. You give us permission only to store them and play them back inside the App for your own family, which is the whole point of them.
You can delete a recording at any time by re-recording over it or asking us to remove your family's data.
5. Privacy — including children's data
What we collect
- From the parent: your name, email address, and phone number if you give it, so we can set up and support your account.
- About each child: the first name you type in, and their practice data — minutes practised, words read, accuracy and speed, chores and points, and which activities they completed.
- Recordings you choose to make, as described above.
- Basic technical data that any website receives, such as your IP address, used to keep the service running and to stop abuse.
What we don't do
- We do not show advertising in the App, and we do not sell or rent anyone's data — ever, and especially not a child's.
- We don't ask children for an email address, a photo, a location, or any way to contact them.
- We don't use children's data for advertising or profiling.
Parental consent and control
Because the account is created and controlled by a parent or guardian, you are the one consenting to your child's information being collected, and you can see all of it inside the App at any time. Ask us through the App and we will send you a copy of your family's data, correct it, or delete the whole family permanently — usually within a few days.
The weekly progress note
If the weekly note is switched on, we send your child's practice statistics only — minutes, accuracy, which reading skills are strong or weak, and the Hebrew words being drilled — to an AI provider, which writes the short summary you see in the report and receive by email. Your child's name is never sent; it is filled in on our own server after the text comes back. No recordings and no contact details are ever sent. You can turn the whole thing off in Parental Controls → Account.
Who else sees it
Only the service providers we need to run the App: our hosting and database provider, and our email provider for account emails. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for anything else. If payment is enabled, card details go directly to our payment processor — we never see or store your card number.
We keep your family's data for as long as your account is open, and delete it when you ask us to or a reasonable period after the account is closed.
6. Payment
The App is $10 per month for the whole family, however many children you have. Founding families — the first group to join — get a full year free, as described when you signed up. If billing is active you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Prices may change in future, but not for a period you have already paid for, and we'll give notice first.
7. Hebrew texts and third-party material
The Hebrew texts in the App are traditional sources. Our arrangement of them — the grading, the line breaks, the teitch, the exercises built around them — is our own work and is covered by section 2. Where the App links out to shiurim or other material hosted elsewhere, that material belongs to whoever published it and is subject to their terms, not ours.
If you believe something in the App infringes your copyright, please contact us through the App and we will look into it promptly.
8. No warranty and limits
We work hard to keep the App running and your family's data safe, but it is provided "as is". We don't promise it will be available without interruption or free of errors, and we're not able to guarantee that data is never lost — please don't treat the App as the only copy of anything irreplaceable.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the App and ask us to delete your family's data at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms — in particular section 2 — or that is being used to harm the service or other families. If we do, we'll tell you why where we reasonably can.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we'll update the date at the top of this page, and we'll tell account holders by email if the change is significant. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and the courts of New York have jurisdiction over any dispute — except that you may also have rights under the law of the place you live, which these terms do not take away.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms, your privacy, your data, or permission to use our material? Send us a message from inside the App — open Parental Controls and use the feedback box. We read every message and reply to the email address on your account.
